My previous headphones were Sony. I tested Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones with the soundtrack from “Fight and Love With a Terracotta Warrior”. I listened and thought: What is that in the background?
Then I realized I was actually hearing the background footsteps and other noises. WOW! Everything is totally clear. You can hear the singers clearing their throats. Amazing. I Love them, retired my Sony’s.

Going from a set of cheap earbuds to Audio-Technica ATH-M50 was definitely a shock to me. ATH-M50 Price – The Best. But most apparent was that I could hear subtleties in the music that had completely eluded me before (Eeven in songs I’m intimately familiar with).
They block very well the out sound. I told a friend to wear them and turned on a rock song at near full volume. He turned to me and yelled: “THIS IS AWESOME!” You really can’t go wrong with ATH-M50.

I am not an audiophile, or sound professional. I am just an iPodiophile. All I want is to listen to my good old 30GB iPod video. Headphones I own or owned ranging from cheap street vendor earbuds, AKG K77, iPod earbuds, Koss PortaPro, Sony MDR-V150, Koss QZ99 to this Audio-Technica ATH-M50.
I had to turn volume high for those cheap Coby & JVC, and even iPod earbuds. But, for AthM50 medium is enough. You may want to buy a pair of these for living room or sound room listening. ATH-M50 buy. Worth every penny!

At first I was skeptical because of how light weight AudioTechnica ATH-M50 seem to feel. Then I put them on and the first thing that popped out was the fit. I had been using a pair of Sony MDR-v700′s, and the quality of sound comparison isn’t even fair. The sound quality of Audio-Technica ATH series is fantastic.
The sound creates an atmosphere that makes you forget you’re listening to headphones. I have to say these have brought great pleasure to my head.

The music sounds great in Audio Technica AthM50. They are very comfortable to wear for a long time. Mids and Highs are the best part. Tight bass. Coiled cable provides flexibility. I use these for air travel as well. I’m glad I didn’t pay twice as much for noise cancelling, because I don’t really need them with ATH-M50. They work just great.
