What is the difference between AthM50 vs AthM50s? I have purchased a pair of the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 recently because of a few recommendations. I am really glad I did! I have had and used several monitor headphones and the ATH-M50 can contend with or exceed the very best of them. Check This Out: Audio Technica ATH-M50 Review
You can see the difference between ATH-M50 vs ATH-M50s on the table above. (AthM50s vs AthM50)
The screw-off 1/4″ to 1/8″ plug is really a great touch and the Audio-Technica AthM50 are effective enough to be comfortably driven by a MP3 player. Not really that they need it, but add a good headphone amplifier and the specifics will turn out to be even more apparent.

Continued burning-in will definitely make the Audio-Technica ATH-M50s sound even much better. I would not advise using any headphones to complete your final mixing with, but these come fairly darn close to what I hear out of my studio monitors.
