ATH M50 vs Beats

The question is: ATH-M50 vs Beats

All of us know the Beats Pros is more expensive than twice the ATH-M50 and we realize they simply do not provide twice the quality – if better at all. But from a pure overall performance point of view, which is much better?

I’m more than shocked with the Audio-Technica M50, for such a lower cost they are nearly on par with the Pro’s according to your individual listening desire.

In case you are reading this and are considering buying some Beats headphones soon, whether it be the Solo’s, Studios or Pro’s then you need to see this ATH-M50 Review first to get some headphones for much less than 1/2 the price tag with comparable sound quality, if not far better for the Solo’s or Studios Beats.

When it comes to develop quality, the Beats outshine the AudioTechnica ATH-M50. But due to the plastic used on the Ath-M50, they weigh quite a bit less compared to Beats which make them much more comfortable. The Beats clamps significantly harder than the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 and along with its weight, extended listening sessions could be really uncomfortable. So, ATH M50 vs Beats?

ATH-M50 vs Beats by Dr. Dre – Although the Beats possess a higher clamping force, it isolates nearly as much as the ATH-M50 headphones. Both of them are approximately similar in size.

The Beats/Pros can fold up by swiveling the cups in as well as the M50s can rotate within a thousand directions.

Audio-Technica M50 vs BeatsSound Quality

The Beats were a bit louder Vs AudioTechnica ATH-M50 at the exact same volume level but neither sounded different to me amped vs un-amped.

They each deliver a different type of bass to the table. The M50 has wonderful extension and its sub bass is extremely powerful. Every little thing among low rumble and mids are neutral at best. The Beats however, is all about the Boom-Boom-Boom. The low end is rolled off, but what exactly is there? The much less aggressive low end on the ATH-M50 seems to enable one pick out much more detail from the audio.

Important!

Conclusion: I couldn’t say which is much better. They were both clear and nicely presented, just in different levels. But ATH-M50 is much more affordable.
