The GOOD
ATH M50 Specs – Fantastic Sound Quality, Comfortable Fit and Cheap Prices
- Sound Quality
Тhe quality of the sound that comes out of AudioTechnica ATH-M50 is out of this planet – it made me smile every time. A few things really stand out with ATHM50:
1.) First, the separation of all the sounds, voices, instruments, is truly remarkable. The music sound amazing, almost as if it were surround sound. From Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Review.
2.) Tight Bass is not muddy at all unlike many other headphones I’ve tried. It is powerful and tight. Audio-Technica M50 have a more natural and clear sound with more bass overall. They don’t seem to scream and make you cringe in pain. Even at high volume the bass stays solid and forceful. It doesn’t lose any of it’s clarity.
3.) High’s and Mid’s are warm and clear. The best thing is one set of tones never drowns out another. If you want accurate flat response – use ATH-M50 Headphones! You get a straight out flat response, so you’re hearing what is really going down. Listening with these headphones, you get an idea of how few recordings actually do have very low frequency sounds in them, but when you come across one that does . . . wow, do you ever hear them!
Also of note is how well Audio-Technica ATH-M50 block out sound. They sport no advanced sound-cancelling technology, but they don’t need it.
- Comfortable Fit
They are so comfortable. The headpiece is telescopic. That allows it to adjust out to fit any size head. These headphones can be worn comfortably by both – adults and children. The earphones are highly padded which makes the ATH M-50 perfect for long mixing, gaming, music listening… from Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Review. Large earcups cover your ears that is why they are very comfortable to wear for a long time.
Audio-Technica M50 have a circumaural ear piece for one ear monitoring. For easier maneuverability it swivels around 180 degrees. This allows you to listen with one ear and have the other ear open to listen to external sounds.
- Practical
The AthM50 are so practical. They have studio feature. This is very useful to me. You can swivel the headphones and let them work as small speakers. You could easily fold open the cups and use them that way. The ATH 50 have also been used plugged into an electric guitar amp – problem free, volume was not an issue.
- Design
I think they did a Perfect design.The Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones will basically fit almost anyone’s head. I did not notice any discomfort with these. They fit perfectly the first time on my head.
The top headband has a thin strip of padding. It’s very good to cushion your head. The ear pads on these are so comfortable. Тhe foam/pleather combination is really soft. I just can’t emphasize that enough. I have so far worn these for about 5:20 hours straight with absolutely no fatigue. I’ve never found that in any pair of headphones I’ve owned till now. - Construction Quality
Constuction Quality is something I’m really Happy with. I feel like I’m picking up expensive headphones every time I touch ATH-M50s. When you hold them, they feel like headphones that will last at least 7 – 8 years or more.
- Style
I wouldn’t mind being caught wearing these in public at all. Great aesthetics – very nice design.
- The Cord
By Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Review – the cord on these headphones is coiled which is very comfortable. Coiled cable provides flexibility and is easy to maneuver. It’s the perfect length and can be extended if need be. If you prefer you can get this same model with a straight cable – Audio-Technica ATH-M50s. The “s” means straight cable. The build quality is excellent on the cabling and especially the plug. You will notice a spring around the cable jack. So, when you pull on the jack it pulls the jack and not the wiring inside. I really appreciate it. It’s an easy smart touch that keeps your wire from crimping.
- Weight
The ATH 50 seem to be perfect in weight: not too heavy and not too light to seem cheaply made.
- Portability
The ATHM50 can folds up, so it’s really easy to transport. They have a nice travel pouch to keep them safe when not in use. You can take them on your vacations or wherever you go (ATH-M50 specs).They appear immune to standard wear and tear, surviving plane trips and typical abuse with no noticeable degradation.
ATH-M50 sale. I have tried many headphones in this price range and have to say that these are the ones to own. At this price range, you cannot get anything that sounds even remotely close to Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones. They may even put to shame some of the headphones at the $250, $370 or even $440 range.
Notice
Don’t pay twice as much for noise cancelling headphones. You don’t really need noise cancelling with these. They worth every penny! The best thing is you can get Audio-Technica ATH-M50 with HUGE Discount

The bad:
- The Audio-Technica AthM50 headphones are not very comfortable when wearing thin metal glasses, because they make it difficult for your glasses to move up. But this is due to the nature of this style of headphones. It’s normal.
- The ATH-M50 headphones require burn in for maximum performance because at first the sound will be a little muddy. They are designed that way. It is recommended that you listen to these headphones for 25 – 35 hours before using them on a full time basis. But this is not a problem – just turn on the music and rest headphones on a square tissue box for an entire weekend. From Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Review.
